VICE CHAIR
Duties1.  Fills in for the Chair in their absence
2.  Manages special workers (webmaster and literature sales person – both paid positions)3.  Writes a check to the literature sales person monthly4.  Opens a post office box and checks it regularly to receive literature mail in orders5.  Prepares a report for Intergroup monthly (a print out of the bank statement)  
6.  Orders literature and recovery chips as needed from the DA World Service Office and/or the local print shop and chip vendor7.  Helps the paid special worker after Intergroup meeting count the income and reconcile the income with the order forms
8.  Deposits the literature income into the bank account9.  Takes the mail orders to the post office for shipping10.  Purchases supplies as needed; mailing envelopes, pens, calculators, packing tape, etc.11.  Attends both the 9 am executive board meeting and 11:30 am Intergroup meeting monthly12.  Takes an inventory of all literature every December
Requirements: Its recommended you have at least one year of not debting and at least two PRGs, as you will be added to the bank accounts, given a debit card and checks. 

CHAIRPERSON
Duties:

  • Make copies of Secretary’s minutes in addition to the agendas.
  • Preside over Long Range Planning Committee as Chair.
  • Conduct elections with Intergroup Reps when there is an open Service Board position(s).
  • Make announcements at meetings for open board positions and other major events.
  • Act as Service Board Sponsor to incoming Chair.
  • Attends both the 9 am executive board meeting and 11:30 am Intergroup meeting monthly
  • Prepares agenda and presides over service board and intergroup meetings
  • signatory on accounts
  • Votes at meetings when there is a tie
  • Ex-officio member of all committees

Requirements: Its recommended you have at least one year of not debting and at least two PRGs, as you will be added to the bank accounts, given a debit card and checks. 

TREASURER
Responsibilities:

  • Attend monthly Service Board meetings (held on the third Satur day of each month) required
  • Attend monthly workshops (Burbank & Westside) when possible.
  • Assist in the preparation of the SCDA Annual spending plan.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly bank statement reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Treasurers Report to Intergroup
  • Assist in miscellaneous duties such as making deposits, transfers as well as bill payment as determined by Service Board & Intergroup group conscience.
  • Assist in the review, negotiation and execution of contracts as determined by Intergroup group conscience.
  • Chair the Finance Committee with various committee agenda tems and projects (adhoc)
    -Service Board Sponsor to train new incoming Treasurer
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Terms of Service: 2 Years, renewed for a maximum of 2 terms
    -Have at least one year of not incurring new unsecured debt.
    -Actively working the Twelve Steps with a Sponsor
    -Had at least two PRG/PRMs
    -Have DA Service Experience (preferably as a treasurer, GSR or ISR)
    -Able to work with the committee structure
    -Additional Desired Qualifications
    -Experience using QuickBooks accounting software
    -Experience/skill as a professional accountant or bookkeeper
    -Experience in finance or business management
    -Experience with spreadsheet software

At Large:
Duties: Keep time at Monthly Service Board and intergroup meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month and help the chair out with anything they need.
Requirements:
Terms of Service: 2 Years, renewed for a maximum of 2 terms
Six months not debting, 2 prgs, has a sponsor, working/has worked steps.

Burbank Workshops Chair

Responsibilities:
-oversees monthly workshop operations
-creates and meets monthly deadlines
-attend board/intergroup monthly meetings
-prepare expense report
-create spending plan
-delegates duties at event-food setup, setup, greeter and registration
Requirements: Six months not debting, 2 prgs, has a sponsor, working/has worked steps.

PARLIMENTARIAN

(this is an unpaid Special Worker position)
Description:
A parliamentarian shall be present at Intergroup and Service Board meetings. Provide clarity on motions and proceedings
Requirements:
Must be well versed in Robert’s Rules of Order. the authority governing Intergroup and Service Board proceedings, except when in conflict with Traditions of Debtors Anonymous or the Bylaws.
Parliamentarian shall be appointed by Chairperson and need not be member of Debtors Anonymous. But DA recovery is a plus!
